Where
is Heaven?
"I like to find out all I can
about Heaven because I expect to live there through all eternity!
If I were going to dwell
in any country - making that country my home, I would inquire
about all manner of things - its climate, the neighbors I would
have -- in fact -- everything that I could learn concerning
it." Dwight

So!
Is Heaven a world like earth
- made up of bricks and mortar?
Is Heaven within this universe
- i.e. above the stars and planets (where a large number of religious
sects would have us believe)?
Where is Heaven?
A Material Heaven beyond the
stars:
Could that be true? A Heaven
above the planets and stars? A material Heaven where ethereal bodies
dwell? A material Heaven where ethereal bodies dwell in the luxury
of their own desires? I'll always remember the description that
our local Seventh Day Adventist minister gave of Heaven - "One
wall is made of diamonds and the other wall is red carnations and
we eat mangoes all day."
Heaven on Earth:
Some religions don't believe
that there is a Heaven, instead, they believe that this Earth is
Heaven and one day they will live in peace and harmony on a beautiful
new earth with flowers, trees and fruits that never die; where animals
are harmless and friendly; and with clear waterfalls and blue sky
forever - Heaven on Earth - 'The Garden of Eden'!
No Heaven at all:
Others believe that our Soul
extinguishes when our body dies - no Heaven or Hell - nothing -
(a reasonable assumption, and not without some merit).
Let's explore the above
scenarios:
A material Heaven beyond the
stars:
Jesus said in John 18:36 - "My kingdom
is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, My servants
would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but
now My kingdom is not from here."
A Heaven
on Earth:
When Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when
the Kingdom of God would come, in Luke 17:19-21 Jesus answered -
"The Kingdom of God does not come with observation, nor will
they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed the Kingdom of
God is within you."
No Heaven
at all:
Heaven is The Light - one big ball of bright
Light, and nearly every religious or spiritual group mention a bright
white Light. Some believe the Light is most important, whilst others
place more importance on the occupants who dwell in the Light -
but where is it and how do we get there?
We experience snippets of the
Light throughout our lifetime -
* the moment of triumph that
we experience only after giving 100% concentrated energy to attain
it, for example:
- giving birth -
that exhilarating moment when indescribable pain is immediately
followed by instant relief and adoration when the baby is born
- being first over the
line in a race - another exhilarating moment when our
mind pushes our body through severe pain and determination and
then instantly, we are rewarded with gratification and release
as we cross the line
reaching a sexual climax
in unison with your partner whom you love and trust
* the moment when we realize
and understand a 'truth' in our lives - you know, the 'ping'
as the lightbulb of knowledge switches on in our mind and we suddenly
find ourselves nodding in agreement and understanding
* the moment of oneness as we
meditate in peace, brought about by merging with our own spark of
Light.
The examples above, and there
are many others, help us to aspire to and become 'one with' a higher
energy source until eventually, we have reached Heaven in its entirety.
Peace and Light
